The Skullerz 8977 Type 2 Safety Helmet, is a Class C Safety Helmet, that features a 6-point suspension system and an EPS foam inner halo, offering comprehensive impact protection. This helmet provides heavy-duty, yet lightweight and comfortable head protection designed to shield the front, back, top, and sides of the head from falls, dropped objects, or bumping into stationary objects.
Compared to 4-point suspension systems, the 6-point suspension better disperses the force of an impact. The compact helmet design improves visibility and a chin strap ensures the helmet remains secure to the wearer’s head upon impact or during sudden movement such as a slip, trip or fall.
ADDITIONAL IMPACT PROTECTIONThe safety helmet meets ANSI Z89.1-2014, Type 2, Class C requirements. The suspension and shell design of this helmet provides added side, front and back protection compared to an ANSI Z89.1-2014 Type 1 requirements. This increased coverage also meets the impact, and penetration resistance requirements of EN12492: 2012 clauses 4.2.1.2, 4.2.1.3,4.2.1.4 and 4.2.2 and retention system (chin strap) design, strength and retention system effectiveness clauses 4.13, 4.2.3 and 4.2.4
COMPACT & BREATHABLE DESIGNA smaller, low-profile brim improves the wearer’s field of vision when climbing or looking up. The flexible open-frame design in combination with adjustable venting offers the best of both worlds: a cooler helmet in the heat and a dry helmet in the rain. These vents release heat buildup and allow air to circulate, reducing perspiration in hot and humid working environments. A padded, moisture-wicking and odor-resistant sweatband and top pad lines the sides, forehead and top interior, and is removable for easy replacement.
CUSTOM, SECURE FITThis safety helmet fits hat sizes 6.5 - 8 (21in – 25 in / 53cm – 63.5cm). Customize the size with the easy-to-adjust 27-point premium ratcheting suspension. Simply turn the one-handed adjustment knob to tighten or loosen the fit without having to take the helmet off. Built with weight distribution in mind, this safety helmet has a snug and balanced fit. With an adjustable chin strap (included), the helmet meets EN12492 retention system design, strength and effectiveness clauses 4.13, 4.2.3 and 4.2.4 to secure the helmet to the head and ensures it does not dislodge if the worker falls or is impacted by another object
ACCESSORIZE ITOne of the biggest challenges for workers is how to attach lights to a hard hat in a way that eliminates the need to adjust and fuss with accessories. This safety helmet includes front and rear slots for secure attachment of Skullerz Hard Hat Headlamps (available as an accessory or with the 8977LED). For jobs where increased eye protection is needed, the helmet is designed for easy bolt-on mounting of the Skullerz 8991 Safety Helmet Visor (available as an accessory). There are also side slots for other common accessories such as hearing protection and face shields.
Ideal for those working at heights or needing a climber’s helmet, as well as construction & utility job sites, oil & gas, road work, forestry, mining and general site work.
