Top was faulty with a large, round dimple that was much weaker than the rest of the hard hat.
Was 3 years old - meaning it only had 2 years of life left in it.
Returned & had replaced without a problem.

Fiberglass?

I was under the impression this was a completely fiberglass hard hat and it is not. It's an injection-molded fiberglass compound that is supposedly stronger. Still not bad though!
