I love the iPad pocket and have used many times in the winter. This jacket is warm even in cold weather. It's still best to put on a base layer though. I also like the detachable hood and love the extra length. Great Coat!!!

Nice Fall and Spring coat

My son subcontracts for National Fuel out of Buf, NY, in the "snow-belt," where there is routinely record-breaking snowfall and lengthy below freezing weather, sometimes blizzard conditions for days and weeks at a time. This coat will protect him until mid-November, and be useful again around April through some freezing rain and snow at temperatures around 34-38 degrees. It's medium weight, not heavy weight. Not for deep winter. Best to keep your Carhartts around for below freezing weather. He loves the design and quality materials, hidden pocket and quantity of pockets. It keeps him warm and dry in rain and wind. It satisfies ANSI requirements. And it looks classy and professional for high-visibility workwear. There is no extra room for sweatshirts or much layering underneath, we do wish I had ordered a size larger. The matching bibs were "held up in shipment," and subsequently canceled and a size larger has been ordered. Staff at Full Source was excellent throughout. The coat took weeks to get here, two weeks after it arrived the bibs still had not been shipped. So order early and I recommend a size up.
