The 983 Extreme Climate gloves offer several key features, including touchscreen-friendly material on the fingertips, MAXGrid™ material on the palm for grip in all conditions, 200g Thinsulate insulation for warmth, a Hi-Vis orange snow/water-resistant back of hand fabric, a Hipora-lined wind and waterproof bladder, an inner elastic snow/ice cuff, and a water-resistant zipper and inner pouch to store hand warming products.

These gloves are average at best. For the good aspects of the gloves, the fit is spot on and fairly comfortable. The bright orange makes them easy to locate, taking them on and off is easy as well. The touchscreen feature is fussy but it does work with an iphone inside a freezer.
Now for the bad.
The grip is bad. I‘ve had a different pair of gloves with this grip and they were shockingly grippy, but not these. The glove itself feels and looks cheap. The lack of drawstring on the cuff is very disappointing given its “extreme climate” rating. The stretchy cuff feels meant for larger wrists and doesn’t like to fit over jackets. They WILL NOT keep you warm in negative ten degree storage freezers, I used them twice now and both times they began to actively fail around the 15 to 20 minute mark.

Gloves are no better than any other Thinsulate gloves you can buy in local store and are at least 1 size smaller than said.
