The Radians SV45-2 Economy Type R Class 2 Self Extinguishing vest features a breakaway design and three pockets. The garment is made from polyester that has been treated to self-extinguish, as defined by ASTM D6413 standards (<2.0s flameout / <6" char length). It's important to note that this garment should not be used in situations where an arc flash or flash fire hazard exists. Typical uses include Ship Building, Steel Erection, Bridge Building, Fabrication, Asphalt Paving, and other scenarios where FR hazards may arise from stray sparks rather than open circuit electricity or a potentially explosive atmosphere.

What does Self Extinguishing mean?

Radians self extinguishing garments are chemically treated to be self-extinguishing as defined by ASTM D6413 (<2.0 Second Flameout / <6" Char Length). This garment should never be used where an arc flash or flash fire hazard is present. This garment is not flame resistant as defined by ANSI/ISEA 107-2015 Section 10.5. Self extinguishing properties diminish with washing.
